Nashik, Jun 7 : Ten people were killed on the spot and thirteen others critically injured, when a mini-bus dashed into a stationary sand-laden truck in Chandwad taluka of the district on Mumbai-Agra national highway early Thursday morning.
According Chandwad police sources, the mishap occurred around 0600 hrs.
The pilgrims were returning to Mumbai on a private mini bus from Ujjain after paying obeisance at ‘Omkareshwar Mahkaleshwar’ temple in Madhya Pradesh.
All the passengers hailed from Kalyan and Ulhasnagar area of Thane district.
After one of its tyres burst, the bus dashed into the sand laden truck.
The injured are being treated at Nashik civil hospital, police added.
