9-day Da’wah campaign organized by Islamic Fraternity at Sonamarg, Pahalgam concludes

Srinagar, June 8 : A 9-day Da’wahcampaign organized by Islamic Fraternity (IF)– an Islamic organization working in the field of Da’wah, education and social welfare activities– at famous tourist resorts Sonamarg and Pahalgam concluded here on Thursday evening.

The programme was organized to spread a word about Islam among non-Muslim tourists visiting the famous resorts, a statement issued to KPS said.

A tent was erected by the organization inside Sonamarg and a canopy at Pahalgam where dozens of volunteers distributed Islamic literature particularly the holy Qur’an in various languages, for the purpose to clear the misconceptions about Islam in the minds of non-Muslims.

The programme was part of a series of campaigns that Islamic Fraternity has started to spread awareness about Islam among non-Muslims and to break the propaganda created by “biased” media against Islam across the globe.

During the campaign at Sonamarg and Pahalgam, hundreds of non-Muslims interacted with Da’ees of Islamic Fraternity, one among whom had been invited from New Delhi to assist the volunteers. Ambulance service was also made available to meet the emergencies.

Meanwhile, Sonamarg Auqaaf and Intizaamiya committee invited Muhammad Aamir, the president of Islamic Fraternity, to deliver the Friday sermon.

Muhammad Aamir in his sermon urged Muslims especially the Ulema (scholars) to unite under the banner of Qur’an and Sunnah.

“The Muslim World is passing through a crucial phase and the need of the hour is to shun the internal differences and stand united like a solid rock to face the challenges confronting the Ummah,” the IF president said.

He appealed the Intizaamiya committee and the common public of Sonamarg to make the Masjid a Da’wah center and an example of unity for the rest of the Valley.

The Islamic Fraternity president added that every Muslim must make it a mission to serve Islam through whatever available means and utilize the education and knowledge to dismantle the propaganda of forces hell bent on defaming Islam.

Meanwhile, in a statement, Muhammad Aamir, who also heads the Islamic Global School (IGS) at Padshahi Bagh Srinagar, said the organization will hold more such programmes at other famous tourist spots after the holy month of Ramadhan.

“We will continue our endeavors to spread the message of Islam to many non-Muslims as possible,” Aamir said.

He thanked the Director Tourism Mehmood Ahmad Shah, Joint Director Masarat Hashim, Assistant Director Tourism Pahalgam, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam Muhammad Ashraf, Chief Executive Officer Sonamarg Development Authority, and In-charge Tourist Office Sonamarg, for granting permission to organize the camp and their support in providing accommodation to Islamic Fraternity volunteers.
