Lucknow, June 20 : Uttar Pradesh Congress president Raj Babbar on Wednesday dissolved several state level committees, including the media committee, with immediate effect.
According to sources in the party, new committees would be constituted in view of the coming 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
On Monday, the party held a function in the state capital to celebrate the birthday of party president Rahul Gandhi.
The much important media committee was already defunct for the past couple of months after former UP minister Satyadeo Tripathi, who was the chairman of the media committee, resigned after being annoyed with the functioning of Mr Babbar. The post was lying vacant till now. At present the UP Congress media committee had 21 spokespersons.
