Two Hurriyat activists among four arrested during night raids in Hajin
Hajin: Police arrested at least four persons including two Hurriyat activists in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district during nocturnal raids last night.
Police sources said that four arrested persons included Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activists Abdul Hamid Parray of Syed Mohallah Hajin and a Muslim League activist Ghulam Hassan Shah.
Family sources of Abdul Hamid Parray confirmed his arrest and said that men in uniform arrested him from his residence at around 2.30AM during a raid.
Parray was recently released after a long incarceration of more three years, sources said.
They said that besides Parray and Shah, police also arrest Khursheed Ahmad Hajam and Muzaffar Ahmad Lone.
Sources in the pro-freedom camp told Kashmir Reader that authorities have started a fresh arrest spree in nook and corner and activists affiliated with Hurriyat (G) constituents in particular are being arrested. Hurriyat (G) is headed by octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani who is undergoing house detention since long. Masarat Alam, a front line Hurriyat (G) leader and Muslim League chairman, is continiously behind bars since 2010 barring only fourty days when he was released in 2015.(Agencies)
