Srinagar: Body of only one militant has been recovered from the gunfight site in Thumna, Chatpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said on Saturday.
The gunfight had occurred in the south town on Friday.
Today morning as the search operation was concluded body of the only militant was recovered from the debris, police said.
The slain has been identified as Sajad Ahmad Shah son of Ali Mohammad Shah, a resident of Gund, Chogul, Handwara, Kupwara.
The other militants believed to be two in number have probably managed to break the army cordon.
Earlier, DGP S P Vaid had tweeted that three militants were killed in the gunfight.
“All three militants eliminated. Good job boys,” DGP SP Vaid had tweeted yesterday evening.(Agencies)
