Treatment meted to teachers, doctors abysmal: Advocate Nazir Malik

Srinagar: National Conference leader, Secretary North Zone Advocate Nazir Ahmad Malik has expressed deep dismay over the treatment meted out to Doctors and teachers by previous government and current dispensation.

He lamented the fact that government has failed to recognize the basic fact that teachers, doctors are the basic pillars of nation which is evident from cruel attitude towards their legitimate problems.

Advocate Nazir Malik stated: ” Doctor profession Is the most sacred profession as it is linked to human lives and on the other hand Teachers are the builders of the nation but unfortunately in Kashmir both these sacred profession are treated badly by the government .The way in past few months teachers protests for their genuine demands have been brutally scuttled speaks volumes of the highhandedness. On the other hand, doctor’s protests to seek solution to their genuine demands have also been harshly dealt. The need of the hour is to end pay anomalies for both these highly crucial professions. “

Advocate Nazir Malik rued the fact that government has been in abject slumber in giving their due to both these professions especially in terms of respect and remuneration.

He said that for due seventh pay commission recommendations and other legal benefits teachers are made to struggle and often deprived of the same which speaks volumes of injustice towards them.

He remarked: “Outside valley of Kashmir both Doctors and teachers are highly paid and respected but here every brutal method is used even to opress their genuine demands and right to protest.”

Advocate Nazir Malik expressed that nutshell impact of all this is disastrous to progress of society as two basic pillars Doctors and teachers in struggle and facing cruel hegemony from government and administration leads to society in chaos thus aggravating the matters further.
