TDP claims moral victory, BJP leaders in jubilant mood
New Delhi, July 21 : The BJP leaders, including Union Ministers, were in triumphant mood after the NDA recorded a resounding victory in the Lok Sabha rejecting the opposition sponsored no-confidence motion while the TDP claims it has scored a “moral victory”.
“Finally, the debate in the Lok Sabha on the Motion we moved was a moral victory for us,” TDP Lok Sabha floor leader Thota Narasimham said late Friday night.
However, shortly after the no-trust motion vote in Lok Sabha, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tweeted: “It is very disappointing to see the country’s PM taking Andhra Pradesh’s wishes and sentiments for granted. Rejecting our demands just because we do not have a majority shows the insensitivity of the PM against our State”.
“We moved No Confidence Motion against the Centre after all our efforts to seek the Union government’s support failed. NDA govt has repeatedly neglected our state and its people’s sentiments. We will continue our fight,” he tweeted.
The BJP leaders and Union Ministers were in jubilant mood with several leaders taking to Twitter to share their
views.
“The negativity of family-based politics has been defeated. We are glad and thankful to all parties and MPs
who supported us,” BJP chief Amit Shah tweeted in Hindi.
Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani said the outcome of voting in Lok Sabha on Friday night
was like precursor to the 2019 general elections.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore tweeted: “Truth is on our side and
it’s just a sign that 2019 elections won’t be won on false propaganda but real progress”.
