5 injured in Khudwani as clashes erupt after slain militant’s burial

Srinagar: At least five protesters sustained pellet injuries after they clashed with government forces in Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

Clashes between protesters and forces erupted in Khudwani soon after a local militant, Bilal Ahmad Dar, killed in Anantnag gunfight with forces was laid to rest.

Hundreds of protesters clashed with forces near and around the SKUAST branch Khudwani, witnesses said adding forces fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the stone pelting protesters injuring at least five.

They said that injured were shifted to nearby hospital. (Agencies)
