Sensex touches 37K level to 37,010 52 pts

Mumbai, July 26 :   The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday breaching 37K level to 37,010.52 points in opening trade as buying was witnessed in capital goods, FMCG, realty and
banking stocks amid positive global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 46.05 points to 11,178.05.

Short-covering of bets, today being the last session of July expiry in the derivatives segment.

Even, firm Rupee against the dollar, kept the overall market sentiment high.

The Sensex recorded intra day high and low at 37,014.65 and 36,894.82 respectively.

The Nifty registered intra day high and low at 11,179.40 and 11,129.85 respectively.

Sectoral indices that increased were Capital Goods, Industrials, FMCG, Materials, Energy, IT and Telecom.

The gainers were SBI by 4.68 pc to Rs 284.15, ICICI Bank by 2.51 pc to Rs 281.50, Tata Motors DVR by 1.77 pc to Rs 143.85 and Bharti Airtel by 1.46 pc to Rs 357.

The losers were Asian Paints by 1.12 pc to Rs 1434.10, Kotak Bank by 0.86 pc to Rs 1303.45, Wipro by 0.78 pc to Rs 272.50 and L&T by 0.69 pc to Rs 1311.
