New Delhi, Aug 4, : Former Interlocutor to Kashmir, Radha Kumar said that the abrogation of Article 35A will open a Pandora’s Box. She said the Accession Debate will start and a professional legal expert can put India into an embarrassing position in case Article 35A is annulled.
Radha Kumar told news agency CNS that Instrument of Accession, Article 370 and Article 35A are interconnected and can’t be separated from one another. “The Indian Civil Society fails to understand why the petition filed by a lesser known NGO was not dismissed by Supreme Court outrightly. The arguments put forth by petitioners carry no weight. I am hopeful, Supreme Court will dismiss it shortly after it will be taken up,” she said adding that Governor of the State has done a good job by asking the Apex Court to defer the case.
While responding to a question, Radha Kumar said that people in Kashmir are dying to get the issue resolved. “There is an issue that needs to be resolved. The cold response from BJP doesn’t make a sense.”
