MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq holds public grievances redressal camp
Ganderbal, August 26: To listen the demands and issues of the people of Waliwar, Chanthan Gulabpora, Chountwaliwar and Wutlar area the lost corners of Ganderbal constituency, Member Legislative Assembly Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar along with the officials of local administration on Sunday hold a grievance redressal camp cum public darbar at Waliwar and Wutlar.
ACD Ganderbal, Executive Engineer PHE, Assistant Executive Engineers of PHE, R&B, , district and sub-divisional officers and locals in large numbers attended the darbar.
Residents were encouraged to ventilate their grievances along with their suggestions on public issues. Problems pertaining to road, play field, timber, water and power supply, availability of ration besides functioning of schools, Anganwari centres and other developmental issues were vociferously raised and discussed.
While speaking on the occasion,MLA Ganderbal Mr Sheikh Ishfaq assured them that their complaints would be heeded and grievances redressed. He urged the officers to empathize with the people in remote areas of his assembly segment and solve their problems on priority.“We have to come up to the expectations of people by ensuring responsive administration. Delivery of quality public service is imperative for the uplift of the poor and downtrodden”, said the MLA Ganderbal.
He also appealed the field staff members to meet their responsibilities diligently saying that their role is vital in addressing local problems.Speaking on the occasion, all the officers responded to all the concerns raised by the locals and assured their timely redressal.
MLA Ganderbal also reviewed the pace of major ongoing works and took feedback from the locals.
He Inspects the ongoing work of water pond constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lacs. He released Rs 2 lacs out of his CDF for the water reservoir.
MLA Ganderbal on the occasion said that the water supply scheme being constructed at an estimated cost of 6.5 crore will feed 5000 souls. He assured macadamization of link roads, road to Tragbal Tourist destination, separate timber depo and promised to release funds out of his CDF for 15 lights and electric poles for 3 Halqas of the Waliwar belt. He further said that he has already released funds for 19 IAY cases out of his CDF and assured that other issues would be redressed in time bound manner.
At Wutlar MLA Ganderbal released funds out of his CDF for 1000 meter pipe length for uncovered souls.
Meanwhile MLA Ganderbal Mr Sheikh Ishfaq passed on necessary instructions to the concerned officers for redressal of issues raised by the locals.The locals hailed the initiative of holding public darbar by the MLA Ganderbal to listen to the people’s problems.
Keeping in view the topography of the hilly area. Ishfaq added that the aim of holding such grievance redressal camps is to solve the problems of the rural people at their doorsteps. He also instructed the officers of key departments to increase their field visits and solve people’s grievances at block and tehsil levels.
During his tour among others JKYNC District President Mir Mushtaq and other prominent National Conference Workers were also present.
