Policeman’s brother abducted, another cop’s son goes missing in Pulwama
Srinagar: Militants have kidnapped brother of a policeman, while another cop’s son has gone missing from a village in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district sparking fears of abduction among his family.
Mohammad Shafi Mir was abducted from Naman village of Kakpora here by suspected militants this evening, a police official told. Mir is a driver by profession and his brother Nazir Ahmad is a policeman posted in Srinagar.
“A search operation has been launched to trace the policeman’s brother,” the official said.
Suspected militants also kidnapped Nasir Ahmad Mir from Midoora village of Tral this evening, reports said. Mir is son of a policeman Ghulam Hassan, who is posted in Manigam as a follower.
However, a police officer told that the youth has gone missing after going out to mosque to offer Esha prayers.
Meanwhile, suspected militants also barged into the house of an SPO in the village.
The SPO Hilal Ahmad Kumar of Midora Tral, posted with special operations group (SOG) of police was not present in his house, a police official said. (Agencies)
