Assistant editor of valley based magazine still under police custody for the sixth consecutive day
Srinagar: For the sixth consecutive day, Aasif Sultan, a Kashmir based journalist continues to be under police custody.
An assistant editor of a monthly magazine Kashmir Narrator, Aasif Sultan was taken by police during a night raid on Monday, and since then continues to be detained at police station Batamaloo.
He will be released Police has been telling his family but not until today. Police has questioned Aasif for his cover story on militant commander Burhan wani which appeared in the June issue of the magazine, his ideology and other stories.
Laptop ,cell phones and other documents of Aasif took away by police during the raid.
Kashmir Narrator has taken up the issue with international media watchdogs like Global media watchdogs, International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), and Committee to Protect Journalists IFJ and CPJ.
