Baramulla: Police on Sunday recovered mutilated body of a minor girl, who went missing from the frontier town of Uri in this north Kashmir district last week.
Mutilated body of Muskan, 9, was recovered by police from a forest in Trikanjan area of Uri here this morning, a senior police official told KR.
He said that the preliminary investigations have indicated that the girl was killed by a wild animal in the forest.
The body, he said will be being taken for legal formalities before being handed over to the family for last rites.
Muskan went missing from her village on August 23.
