Internet services suspended in Shopian
Shopian: Mobile internet service was snapped in this south Kashmir district where violent protests are going on after government forces engaged a group of militants in a gun-battle.
All cellular companies, including the state run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) suspended mobile internet service shortly after government forces and militants exchanged gunfire in Laddi village here, witnesses told KR.
However, the broadband service is operational.
Encounter raged in Laddi village in the wee hours today after army’s 44 RR, special operations group (SOG) of police and CRPF launched a joint cordon and search operation (CASO).
