Maintain public order, Governor tells DGP
Srinagar: Governor SatyaPal Malik on Sunday asked the state police chief, S P Vaid to maintain public order strictly.
The DGP who called on the Governor here was told to maintain public order as this according to the governor was the first step towards securing peace and normalcy in the state. Malik also stressed that all security forces must act with complete synergy to achieve effective security on the ground.
DGP briefed Governor about the internal security situation in the State and about various welfare schemes of the J&K Police instituted for its personnel. He also apprised Governor about the role and responsibilities of the J&K police in the annual conduct of Amarnath Yatra, a spokesman of the RajBhawan said here.
