Srinagar: MLA Baramulla Javed Hassan Beigh who had joined the chorus of “dissenter” legislators on Monday participated in a party meeting called over upcoming Panchayat and municipal elections in the state.Sources said that Beigh took part in the party meeting that passed a resolution to stay away from upcoming Panchayat and municipal elections.
The junior Beigh, who is nephew of PDP co-founder Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, had launched a scathing attack on the party’s top leadership after BJP withdrew support to the PDP-led government.
Prominent Shia leader and PDP MLA Abid Ansari was the first to rise in revolt against the leadership. His nephew Imran Ansari and MLA Gulmarg Abbas Wani echoed his dissent.
