PM greets Sikkim Chief Minister Chamling on his birthday

New Delhi, Sep 22:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended birthday greetings to the Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling.
“Birthday greetings to Sikkim CM Shri Pawan Chamling Ji. For over two decades he’s been tirelessly working for Sikkim’s growth. I pray for his long and healthy life,” Mr Modi tweeted.
On April 29 this year Mr Chamling created a history for himself as he surpassed the record of former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu by becoming the longest serving Chief Minister of any state in the country.

Mr Chamling, who is also the president of his regional outfit Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) had first become Chief Minister on December 12, 1994 and has not looked behind since then.
The Marxist veteran Jyoti Basu ruled West Bengal for 23 years from June 21, 1977 till November 6, 2000 before he gave up the post to his handpicked Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
