KEA stages protest against allotment of power projects to non-local firms

Srinagar 26 Sep : Police on Wednesday detained several members of Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) during a protest march against the allotment of power projects to non-local companies by the BJP led government.

Scores of members of KEA assembled at Press Colony this afternoon and tried to take out a protest march towards the Civil Secretariat against the allotment of power projects to non-local firms, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. Chanting slogans in favour of Article-35A and Article 370, the protesters said that the state has enough resources to build power projects at its own.

The protesters demanded that state government should not allow New Delhi to loot its resources.

As the protesters were marching towards the secretariat, cops intercepted them and detained many before whisking them away in police vans.
