Nobel Prize in physics awarded to a Canadian woman, men from the U.S. & France

The Nobel Physics Prize has been awarded to Arthur Ashkin (US), Gerard Mourou (France) and Donna Strickland (Canada).

The scientists American Arthur Ashkin, Gerard Mourou of France and Donna Strickland of Canada developed ways to use light as tools, reports said.

Strickland is the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in physics since 1963. The committee hailed their groundbreaking inventions in laser physics, Washington post reported.
