Hizb module busted in north Kashmir’s Kupwara: Police

Baramulla: Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a module of Hizbul Mujahideen in Lolab area of Kupwara district by arresting two alleged over ground workers of the outfit.

Shakir Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammed Ramzan and Ghulam Mustafa Sheikh, son of Abdul Ahad, both residents of Tekipora, Lolab were detained on the basis of a specific input, a police spokesperson told Kashmir Reader today.

The spokesperson claimed that during sustained interrogation of the duo, one pistol was recovered from them.

“The module was engaged in providing logistics support and luring more youth to militancy,” the spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, a case FIR no.77 of 2018 under sections 7/25 Arms Act 13 UAPA has been registered against the duo.
