EJAC will support employees of PD&M department in resolving their issues: Qayoom Wani

Srinagar, Oct 05 : An emergency meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee was held under the chair of senior trade union leader and President Employees Joint Action Committee Abdul Qayoom Wani.
All the leaders present in the meeting showed their strong resentment over ignoring PD&M Department from allocation of resources, authorization and other activities. The decisions taken during the state Administrative council (SAC) meeting on 18-09-2018 were threadbare discussed. As per the decision, the expenditure function including allocation of resource were earlier performed by the PD&M Department for the past more than five decades shall be henceforth exercised by the Finance Department. The PD&M Department has restricted to only few functions which include monitoring, economics and statistics etc.
While addressing the meeting Abdul Qayoom Wani said that decision taken by the SAC without prior consultations with the stakeholders will affect the PD&M Department adversely particularly with regard to their future career progression. The decision has brought a great injustice to the cadre and has set in unrest among the planning cadre. The decision of entrusting the assignment to Finance Department has, among other things.
Abdul Qayoom Wani said that these decisions have made PD&M Department irrelevant in light of an insignificant mandate which is unjustified, illogical and unacceptable to the employee fraternity. Abdul Qayoom Wani said that EJAC will support employees of PD&M department at every level in resolving their justified issues. Wani urged upon the Government to take a considerable view before implementation of the SAC decision to safeguard the interests of the planning cadre.
