APHC (M) condemns forces’ highhandedness, arrest of Abbas Ansari
Srinagar, Oct 15: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) has strongly condemned the forces’ highhandedness across south and north Kashmir “under the garb of search operations” and later creating an atmosphere of fear by “arresting youth, thrashing inmates and making people stand outside their homes for hours together”.
A spokesperson of APHC (M) in a statement issued to GNS termed it as “ultimate form of state terrorism”.
“Under the guise of so-called sham polls, entire Kashmir has been converted into a military fortress where people irrespective of their age are being arrested and later slapped with draconian PSA and then shifting them outside the Valley for their lodgement in various Jammu jails,” he said.
Over the arrest of senior Hurriyat leader Moulana Abbas Ansari and lodging him in Central Jail Srinagar, the spokesperson said “it actually was a part of bigger operation across Kashmir under which resistance leaders are lodged in various jails”.
“Lodging senior leader like Moulana Abbas Ansari in Central Jail is a highly undemocratic move as his confinement can further deteriorate his health as he is already suffering from various ailments,” he said.
The APHC (M) also castigated authorities for confining the aged leader Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik and dozens of other leaders caged since past more than a fortnight now.
The amalgam appealed people to follow the strike call issued by the Joint Resistance Leadership for the poll bound areas.
The APHC (M) spokesperson said that the New Delhi should shun its “rigid” approach and instead accept the ground realities and start a meaningful dialogue for resolving the vexed issue as per the aspirations of people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, on the directions of APHC (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, senior leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza visited many areas of Kudwani in Kulgam, where many youth were recently arrested and slapped with PSA.
Waza also met the families of those arrested and extended sympathy with them and stated that the sacrifices rendered by the youth won’t go in vain and that the “mission of martyrs” and the youth being arrested under the garb of “so-called elections”, will be taken to its logical conclusion.
