‘Police Commemoration Day 2018’, DGP visits martyrs memorial, inspects full dress rehearsal Parade, reviews preparedness

Srinagar, Oct 19: The Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh, IPS today visited Police Martyrs Memorial, Zewan took salute and inspected full dress rehearsal Parade for the Police Commemoration Day which is being observed on 21stOctober as National Police Day throughout the Country and also reviewed the preparedness for the occasion. Governor, Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest on this Parade.

The DGP while discussing these preparation directed the officers that the function should must be held in a befitting manner and all desired arrangements must be made for the occasion when the sacrifices of the martyrs are remembered.
While interacting with the contingent commanders DGP directed them to present the Parade with full enthusiasm to remember the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
The State level function of the Police Commemoration Day is being held at Armed Police Complex, Zewan in which ITBP, BSF, CRPF, SSB, IRP, JKAP and JKP, Ladies Contingents, Pipe and Brass Bands are participating.
The DGP was briefed by the Inspector General of Police Armed Kashmir S.A Watali, Nodal Officer Parade Abdul Rashid Bhat SSP, Nodal Officer Logistics Manzoor Ahmad Dalal SSP regarding the preparation being made for the function.
Pertinent to mention here that Police Commemoration Day Parade will be held on all district headquarters, the main functions are being held at Rail Head Complex, Gulshan Ground, Jammu and Armed Police Complex Zewan. A number of programmes including blood donation camp have been planned to mark this day.
Commandants of different battalions of J&K Armed Police, IRP, Police Telecommunication and other senior officers were present during the full dress rehearsal. (KNS)
