SRINAGAR: The wife of senior Congress leader Tariq Hamid Karra has lost the Urban Local Body seat from Lawaypora falling in the jurisdiction of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
The ward number 31 of Lawaypora seat was bagged by Independent candidate Fancy Jan who defeated her nearest rival Asifa Tariq Karra, the wife of Tariq Hamid Karra by 18 votes.
Asifa Tariq Karra of Indian National Congress was polled 501 votes while Fancy Jan secured 519 votes.
