Private school Association School Heads join hands for Starting Moral Education for the Children that Study at their Schools

 

Srinagar, 21 October: In order to address the challenges of Moral degradation in our society, Private schools’ Association has started an initiative “Moral Education, Environment & Relief Council (MEERC)”  ,the office of which was Inaugurated here today by Director Academics JKBOSE –Dr.Farooq Ahmad Peer here at Bilaliya Educational School ,Lalbazar Srinagar. The welcome address was presented by Mr.G.N Var (Chairman Private schools’ Association J & K ).Mr.Var stressed that there is a lack of Moral education in the society and we as a  whole are leading to the Moral Disaster .Our schools need to address this  grave situation of immorality by providing a Strategy ,frame work and policy that could in the long run change the idea of only education to Education driven by Moral and human Values. Quality education would always remain the backbone of our schooling; however we would be imbibing the moral education as a priority. There should be clear cut policy for reservation of poor and downtrodden sections of the society.

Prof.Hamid Naseem Rafiabadi ,one of the distinguished scholars of education sector speaking on the occasion ,congratulated PSAJK for starting such Initiatives .He said that ,it is the need of the hour to promote moral values with Scientific Knowledge  besides taking care of environment and providing relief to the poor and needy.He declared it as a  movement ,that needs to be promoted.

Chief guest Dr.Frooq Ahmad Peer –Director Academics JKBOSE ,speaking on the occasion said that schools should adopt Morality and character building as performed by Prophets and their followers .We need to take care of environment and adopt moral education so that world can receive a message that all religions are being are respected in Islam. Welcoming the event and congratulating the organisers of the event ,he stressed that environment has been destroyed and we need to restore our natural beauty .While as other states have maintained their beauty by artificial means .we need to save our rivers ,lakes and water bodies for the protection of the environment. Relief means helping someone in depression, adversity and suffering. We must identify the real victims like orphans and destitutes and we must reserve our relief for economically backward classes.

A vote of thanks was passed by  Manzoor Ahmad wangnoo –chairman MEERC.He said, we as private schools’ Association should take concrete & practical steps for the promotion of moral education in schools, caring of environment besides providing relief to the poor and needy. He thanked all the participants for their cooperation and support extended to MEERC for starting this very important endeavour. The honorary Memento was presented to the chief guest besides launching the books for Moral education .Finally the session was concluded with final words of appreciation and dua by Mr.Shabir Ahmad Mir (Chairman R.P School).
