Civil Secretariat road Jammu closure causes inconvenience”
Jammu: Civil Society for development of Jammu and Kashmir president Puneet Singh Jamwal today said that in wake up annual Darbar move traffic authorities besides other allied agencies must gear themselves up to ensure hassle-free movement of vehicles, proper parking and better public transport system so that city doesn’t get chocked. He said a clean, organised and prompt public transport system is the face of city which needs special attention.
Puneet Singh Jamwal urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to kindly ask security agencies as well as government officials to not to close main road connecting old city areas with SMGS Hospital, children hospital, main bazar and temples. This move he added troubles people and they are forced to take long routes for reaching hospital and other public places. He urged the Governor to ask officials to find an amicable way to manage security as well as keep main roads free for traffic movement.
Expressing his concern over accident on Jammu-Ramban road where a nomad and his livestock were crushed by a speeding truck, Puneet Singh Jamwal said such incidents should be avoided by either managing movement of nomads during these days or by providing them with fluorescent jackets to be worn while descending to planes during night hours. The incidents wherein a nomad and his livestock were crushed is shocking as well an eye opener for traffic authorities for managing safe movement of flock.
