Srinagar: Internet services have been suspended in Srinagar district following the gunfight between the government forces and militants at Athoora early on Thursday.

Reports said both the low-speed and high-speed Internet services were blocked in the entire district after a gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces in Athoora area of Kreeri.

An official said that the gunfight started after a joint team of army’s 29 Rashtriya Rifles, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Athoora village of Kreeri in Baramulla district after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants.
