Prashant Bhushan, Arun Shourie, Yashwant Sinha file petition in Rafale deal, claim extreme pressure on CBI

New Delhi, Oct 24: Noted Supreme Court lawyers Prashant Bhushan, Arun Shourie and Yashwant Sinha, have filed a fresh petition before the Apex Court in connection with the controversial Rafale deal and sought a direction from it, for a court-monitored CBI probe.
The petition filed by Bhushan, Shourie and Sinha said the FIR is not registered on their complaint, as there is extreme pressure on the probe agency, CBI.
The petition had been admitted by the Court, but it was immediately unclear, as to when the matter would come up for hearing before the SC.
There are already two petitions – filed by two lawyers – Manohar Lal Sharma and Vineet Dhanda – pending and being heard by the apex court.
On the last date of hearing, the SC, without issuing any notice to the Union of India (UOI), had simply asked it to file a detailed response in a sealed cover, with respect to the decision-making process of the Rafale deal. UNI
