Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairperson and Kashmir’s chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar on Monday visited the families of two slain militants who were killed in a gunfight with government forces in Fateh Kadal of Srinagar city last week. The Mirwaiz also visited the family of the slain civilian Rayees Ahmad who was killed during the encounter.
The Mirwaiz extended sympathies with the families of Mehrajuddin bangroo and Fahad Mushtaq at their residences in Fateh Kadal and Khanyar.
The Mirwaiz also visited the family of Rayees Ahmad, a civilian who was killed by government forces during the gunfight. “He prayed for peace to the departed souls and extended his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families,” a spokesperson of the amalgam said.
Mirwaiz, who was released from house arrest after three weeks, said that the blood of martyrs will never go waste and added that the determination and conviction of the slain’ families strengthened his will. He said “the blood of our martyrs won’t go waste. Allah Willing.”
