Tokyo, Oct 29 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the Indian delegation in the 13th India-Japan Annual Summit in Tokyo on Monday.
The summit is being hosted at the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office here. Delegation level talks between both the sides will take place after the welcome ceremony. A series of bilateral agreements are expected to be inked.
Earlier, Mr Modi began his third day of the trip by addressing the Indian community.
On Sunday, Prime Minister spent eight hours at the scenic Yamanashi at his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe’s holiday home. The two Prime Ministers held informal talks over lunch and a private dinner hosted at Mr Abe’s private villa.
Mr Modi became the first foreigner to be invited to Mr Abe’s villa. Both the leaders also visited Japan’s largest facility for building industrial robots.
In his address to the Indian community in Tokyo on Monday, congratulated them for taking ‘brand India’ to new heights by introducing cricket, Indian food and culture to the island nation.
“You’re like Diwali lamps spreading light,” he said.
In a tweet, MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar wrote: “PM Narendra Modi interacting with some respected names in Japanese venture capitalists. Participants gave a thumbs up to reform measures initiated by the government and offered suggestions on further improving the start up and innovation ecosystem in India”.
In another tweet, Mr Kumar wrote: “Japan’s role in our economic journey continues to be integral to India’s transformation”.
He further Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko. Both the leaders discussed ways to enhance economic engagement, specially given the particular ministry’s role in strengthening the economic partnership.
