Srinagar (KPS): The employees of Sericulture department stage a protest in press enclave Srinagar on Friday against the ‘illegal’ suspension of employees of 15 employees by the department.

Assembled in Press Enclave Srinagar and raised slogans against the incumbent Director, a large number of employees from Sericulture Department demand that the government needs to take immediate steps and should take back the decision as soon as possible.  They alleged that Director Sericulture suspended 15 employees of the department despite the fact 14 of them had done biometric attendance. The Director issued the order claiming that these employees had no manual attendance.

‘Employees and Workers’ Union, President Gowhar Habib said we staged a protest against the incumbent Director demanding from authorities to appoint any ‘Technical Director’ in the Department. “The present Director is not a technical one so that is why employees staged protest against him”. They have been charged with that they were absent from duty on said day.

In spite of this, it is warned that if it is not cancelled, the protest will continue till the next round. We are going to hold a major protest program on Monday.

The employees of the department had objected that instead of the current directors, a Technical Director should be done in the department, perhaps this action has been taken in due to the objection, the employees added. (KPS)
