Ayodhya, Nov 6 Amid demand for the construction of a grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced to change the name of Faizabad district to Ayodhya.
The CM also announced that an international airport would be constructed in Ayodhya. It would be known as Shree Ram International Airport while the medical college in the district would be named Raja Dashrath Medical College.
The announcements were made by the Chief Minister during the ‘Deepostava’ function.
However, during the speech of Mr Adityanath, the audience raised slogans demanding the construction of a grand Ram temple immediately.
The crowd chanted, “Yogi ek kaam karo, Ram Mandir ka nirman Kari.”
Ayodhya, Mr Adityanath asserted, would be an attractive tourist destination of the world in the coming days.
An estimated 3 lakh diyas would be lit on the banks of river Saryu this evening along with an Aarti to be attended by a multitude of dignitaries. (UNI)
