Gulmarge : The CEO GDA Haneef Balkhi chaired a meeting in Town Hall Tangmarg on Tuesday with the officers, stakeholders and various representatives of Service providers regarding preparation of winter arrangements 2018-19.
The CEO GDA urged the officers to provide hassle free services to the tourists/service providers and upkeep the winter machinery functional round the clock. He, however, directed the civil/police administration to ensure the only anti-skid chain fixed vehicles shall be allowed beyond the permissible entry from Tangmarg to Gulmarg and no light vehicles shall be allowed to move on snow cladded roads. Only 4×4 vehicles shall be allowed to move from Tangmarg to Gulmarg without anti-skid chains. He asked the Mechanical department to keep the snow cutter available as and when GDA require the same in Gulmarg bowl. He further asked the DFO Tangmarg to remove the trunks lying around the Gulmarg-Tangmarg Road which are obstructing the snow cutter machines while working. He further urged the transporters to keep sufficient vehicles available for the tourists/employees/locals round the clock without any inconvenience. The ARTO Sopore also assured that the fare charges for sums, mini buses of Tangmarg-Gulmarg route shall be fixed on the geniune basis separately. The meeting was attended by SDM Gulmarg, DFO, ADT Gulmarg, DySP Traffic, Ex. GDA/EX. Mec., ARTO Sopore, D. BSNL, SHO Tangmarg, BMO Tangmarg, Aee Electric PDD Tangmarg,E o mc President hoteliers club Gulmarg, President Pony Association,President Traders and representatives of employee unions of Tangmarg Gulmarg, etc.
At the end of meeting,the CEO GDA thanked all the officers, stakeholders etc. who participated in the meeting.
