Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman today cautioned jawans not to believe what appear in social media.
While interacting with troops along the Line of Actual control at Hayuliang in Arunachal Pradesh, she advised them to stay away from negative news appearing about forces in Facebook and Twitter.
Mrs Sitharaman also reiterated government’s commitment to give latest weapons like AK47 to all jawans manning border posts.
Our correspondent reports that the Defence minister distributed sweets and chocolates to all soldiers on the occasion of Diwali.
