Jammu, Nov 7: A drug peddler was arrested with contraband of poppy straw here on city outskirts.
“During routine patrolling on Tuesday night in Lower Thather area of Chinore, police intercepted a pedestrian carrying bag but he tried to escape,” a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
He said that after a hot chase, he was nabbed and during checking, 4.
2-kg of poppy straw (bhukki) was recovered from his possession.
The man identified as Sohan Lal, resident of Gurha Brahmana, Bantalab was arrested on the spot and a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against him and investigations started.(UNI)
