CASO sets off violent protests in south Kashmir’s Arihal
Pulwama: Clashes broke out this morning in Arihal of this south Kashmir district after government forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the area.
Dozens of people, mostly youth hit the streets and staged protest this morning when a contingent of army, special operations group (SOG) of police and paramilitary CRPF personnel appeared in Budh Mohalla in Arihal and started a search operation.
Angry youth, witnesses said pelted stones and rocks at the government forces over the conduct of search operation. The government forces, they said lobbed tear gas canisters to disperse the stone pelting youth.
