Srinagar: The daylong encounter in Dar-Ganaigund mohalla has ended Friday evening with the killing of one militant.
Sources said that one militant has been killed during the gunfight. The identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
“One unidentified militant body was recovered from the gunfight site,” they said.
The gunfight started early Friday morning after government forces cordoned the area after inputs about the presence of militants.
Police sources said that a policeman has also suffered a splinter injury during the gunfight.
Meanwhile, authorities have suspended the Internet service in police district Awantipora which includes Tral, Awantipora and Pampore areas.
