Two killed, 10 injured in Karachi blast
Islamabad, Nov 17: At least two persons were killed and 10 others injured when a powerful explosion hit the Quaidabad area of Karachi on Friday, local police authorities said.
The blast took place under a bridge in the Quaidabad area of Karachi, geo tv reported quoting a senior police official. The police were still trying to ascertain the exact nature and cause of the explosion.
The injured have been shifted to a hospital in the city, where five of them were said to be in critical condition.
Power supply to the surrounding areas was disrupted following the powerful explosion, which could be heard from a distance.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the additional inspector-general of Sindh police.Security personnel cordoned off the area after the blast and launched a search operation. So far no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
