Girl injured as militants, govt forces exchange gunfire in southern Kashmir’s Kulgam

Srinagar: A girl was injured during a firefight between government forces and suspected militants in Berthipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Sources said that suspected militants mounted an attack on government forces who were laying a cordon to the village.

In the exchange of fire a girl identified as Muskaan Jan, a resident of Wanigund Qaimoh Kulgam received a bullet injury, the sources added.

Muskaan was immediately shifted to Qaimoh hospital for treatment.

Police sources said that the area has been cordoned off and reinforcements have been called for to nab the militants.
