On JRL call Kashmir shuts to protest Hurriyat leader Mir Hafizullah, militant killings

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed across the Kashmir valley on Thursday against the killing of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Hafizullah Mir and other militants killings in southern Kashmir.

The call for the shutdown was given by the Joint Resistance Leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.

All the shops, business establishments, and other offices are closed in the valley, while traffic also is off the roads.

Reports from all the district headquarters in northern and southern Kashmir said that a complete shutdown is being observed across all the districts.

Meanwhile, the government has made elaborate security arrangements across the valley particularly the capital city Srinagar to thwart any pro-freedom protests.
