Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces in Chatergam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday early morning.

Reports said that a joint team of army’s 50RR, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Chatergam.

While the forces intensified searches towards suspected house the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an gunfight.

An official said that contact has been established with the hiding militants after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area.

As this report was filed intermittent firing was going on. (GNS)
