IUST Classwork remains suspended, Exams Postponed
Srinagar: The class work remained suspended in the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora for the second consecutive day on Friday following the killing of two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants in an encounter by government forces in Khrew in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“All examinations which were scheduled to be held today have been postponed,” an official of the varsity said. The new dates shall be announced later. He said the classwork will also remain suspended for the second day today.
Following the killing of top Lashkar commander this week, intense protests erupted in the varsity campus against his killing. The students of the varsity also clashes with government forces while they attempted to take out a protest march on the main Srinagar Jammu highway.
