Pakistani lady who lived away from Quetta home dies in Srinagar
Srinagar, Dec 1: Eighty six year old, Pakistani lady, Anjuman Ara, could’nt meet her family back in Quetta for the last over 68 years before she died in Kashmir.
Married to Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Nizami, in early 1950 she moved to Kashmir before relations between India and Pakistan turned hostile and snapped her ties with Pakistan.
She couldn’t travel to meet her parents in Pakistan and invainly longed to see them before their death
Her father Abdul Rahim Khana was a contractor in Pakistan. When Khan and his wife, Shami ul Nisa died Anjuman could’nt meet them.
Last week the lady became ill and after a severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder she breathed her last on Thursday. She was buried at the grave where her husband also remains buried at Magarmalbagh.
Her son, Javid Nizami, said that her story was a rare one. ” If there would have been peace between India and Pakistan, my mother could have been able to meet her family in Pakistan. She couldn’t when her parents died many years back,” he said.(CNS)
