Detailed Video Report | Even after assurances, Govt fails to fulfill demands of ReT teachers

Srinagar, Dec 03 : Even as the Governor led administration assured that the demands of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers will be fulfilled; thousands of ReT teachers were once again compelled to hit the streets against what they termed as ‘hoax promises’ by the administration.
According to KNS correspondent, Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers in this afternoon assembled at Srinagar’s Press Enclave and recalled the promises done with them b the State administration.
Dozens of members from Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) Teachers’ Forum while chanting slogans against the government were demanding implementation of 7th pay commission and delinking of their salaries.
Earlier, in September this year, the government had assured that the demands of ReTs will be fulfilled within a short span of time.
However, the ReT teachers said that the government has hurt their sentiments by making ‘fake promises’, saying that no step was taken so far by the administration regarding their demands.
The protesting teachers said that the government is forcing them to face hardships as the dispensation has utterly failed to take up their issues and fulfill their demands.
“Despite assurances by the education Minister’s, nothing has been done for our demands,” the protesting teachers said, adding that the government must fulfill their promises and must fulfill our demands at an earliest so that thousands of families could heave a sigh of relief.
“Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has clubbed various schemes including SSA, RMSA and others and has reduced the funds, affecting the salaries of SSA teachers. We demand the government to delink our salaries so that we will get salaries on time,” the protesters said.
“Recently, the concerned Minister assured that the SSA teaches will get their salaries before Eid but unfortunately, the government seems befooling the public as or salaries continued to remain withheld, leaving thousands of SSA teachers to suffer ahead of Ramadhan,” they said.
They later appealed the government to fulfill their demands at an earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
