TJAC hails SAC decision regarding SSA teachers

Srinagar, Dec 08: An emergency meeting of Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC) was held at Jammu under the chair of President EJAC Ab Qayoom Wani.
In the meeting all the leaders of TJAC hailed the decision of SAC chaired by Governor of the state Satya Pal Malik regarding the long pending chronic issue of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and Headmasters.
In a statement issued to KNS, Wani said that the continuous struggle of teaching fraternity under the banner of Teachers Joint Action Committee have beard fruits and the teaching fraternity have got sigh of relief.
He hailed the personnel intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik and his Advisors Khursheed Ahmad Ganie, B. B. Viyas, Vijay Kumar, K. K. Sharma in resolving the issues which was already discussed in the office chamber of Governor on 26th September in which Governor agreed in principle to resolve the issues of teaching fraternity especially implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and Headmasters, linking of their salaries with State sector and creation of posts during which Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie, Secretary School Education Ajit Kumar Sahu, Director Samgra Shiksha Tufail Mattoo, Director School Education Kashmir Gh Nabi Itoo were present besides leaders of Teachers Joint Action Committee.
Chairman TJAC thanked Advisor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie who is also holding the portfolio of Education Department for his continuous efforts and personnel interest in resolving the long pending issues.
He hailed the role of Chief Secretary B.V, R, Subramanyium and his employee friendly attitude and administrative skills in resolving the issues of employees in Particular and people of the state in General. He also hailed the efforts of Principal Secretary Finance Naveen Chowdhary and Secretary Education Ajit Kumar Sahu besides Director Samgra Shiksha Tufail Mattoo, Director School Education Kashmir Gh Nabi Itoo and Director School Education Jammu for their timely efforts with positive mind set which proved instrumental in resolving the burning issues of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and Headmasters.
Wani also hailed the continuous and result oriented struggle of teaching fraternity irrespective of cadre and post, position, region and religion under the banner of Teachers Joint Action Committee and the consistency, patience and commitment of Teachers and leaders of TJAC which they exhibited during one month continuous hunger strike at Pratap Park Srinagar and Press club Jammu.
EJAC President said that hunger strike proved historical in which Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie after the meeting at Rajbhawan announced the decision of Governor in front of electronic and print media and teachers at Hunger strike.
He also thanked the electronic and print media, news agencies, journalists, writers, Leaders of EJAC, different trade unions, political and non political organisations, religious organisations, trade bodies, civil society, Chamber of commerce J&K, Kashmir economic alliance, private school associations, students unions, and common people of J&K for their support to our genuine cause for its resolution.
Wani assured the teaching fraternity that if any deficiency seems to be there in the SAC decision, TJAC leaders will immediately put forth those apprehensions and deficiencies before the higher ups of the administration for their early redressal. So, teachers are requested not to be panic as TJAC is on the job on war footing basis to protect the rights, respect and dignity of teaching fraternity
