Yasin Malik discharged from SKIMS

Srinagar, Dec 08: Ailing Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik who was admitted at Soura Medical Institute has been discharged from hospital, a spokesman said.
Malik was admitted to the hospital on 03rd December 2018, after he felt severe pain in his back at Maisuma police station where he was lodged by police from 19th November 2018.
“Immediately after being discharged from hospital, a large contingent of police arrived at the hospital and straightaway shifted Malik to Kothi-bagh police station where he is lodged now,” JKLF spokesman said in a statement issued to KNS.
Meanwhile, JKLF leaders and activists along with people from different walks of life, despite heavy police intimidations, today organized candlelight protests at Sarai Bala Srinagar and Laribal Khumaini Chowk Budgam, he said.
Following JRL program, JKLF leaders and activists along with common people from different walks of life gathered at Sarai Bala Srinagar and Laribal Khumaini Chowk Budgam and staged candlelight protests against human rights abuses in Kashmir by forces.
Holding candles and torches in hands, protesters raised slogans against atrocities and oppression unleashed by forces and police in Kashmir valley.
Terming the shifting of ailing JKLF chairman directly from Soura institute to police station Kothi-bagh as ‘callous and worst apathy’ of police authorities, JKLF leaders while addressing the protesters of today’s candlelight protests said that “cruelty and oppression have become a trade mark of rulers and their authorities’ and this brutal approach against common people and also against the people in peaceful resistance has and is pushing Kashmiris to the wall and hence is responsible for enhancement of violence.”
Leaders while condemning the spree of arrests, ban on candlelight protests, nocturnal raids and other acts of ‘bullying’ by police said that “besides shifting JKLF chairman to police station in an ailing condition, police today shifted JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal from central jail Srinagar to police station Shergadi under some other concocted case.”
Besides this, JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi is also languishing in Kothi-bagh Police station along with Social activist from Koker-bazar Shabir Ahmad Dabla.
Another JKLF leader and zonal general secretary Sheikh Abdul Rashid is languishing in police station Safa-Kadal while as senior social figure of Koker-Bazar Shakil Ahmad Batkoo has been put behind bars at police Chowki Chanapora.
