Several injured as clashes erupt after burial of slain militants in Bandipora

Srinagar, Dec 10 Several people were injured when security forces burst teargas shells and resorted to aerial firing to disperse demonstrators at Hajin in north Kashmir, protesting after the funeral of two local Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants, who were killed in an encounter on Srinagar outskirts.

Immediately after the slain militants were buried, some people, mostly youths raising pro-freedom slogans, tried to take out a protest rally at Hajin in Bandipora.
However, they were stopped by the security forces and state police personnel, deployed in strength, leading to clashes.

The security forces burst teargas shells and resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protestors, who were pelting stones.
Several protestors were injured during the clashes.
