Governor e-inaugurates 383 ICT labs and 239 CAL labs in Government Schools across the State
Basit Ali Wani from BHSS Zadibal invites Governor to the school during the video conference
Srinagar: Basit Ali Wani, a 10th class student from BHSS Zadibal today invited Governor Satya Pal Malik to visit the school during the e-inauguration of 383 ICT labs and 239 CAL centres in the Government Schools across the State. During his interaction with the Governor, Basit Ali Wani asked Governor whether it is possible to have every class as ICT enabled classroom. Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo and District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah were present with the students at BHSS Zadibal. Chief Education Officer, Srinagar Mudasir Kaleem Fazili and Principal BHSS Zadibal Shabnam Nahaid were also present on the occasion.
In his statement DSEK Dr. G.N. Itoo said that a total of 961 ICT laboratories are established in different schools of Kashmir Division including Leh and Kargil. DSEK said that out of total 383 ICT labs inaugurated by Governor, 169 are in Kashmir Division and out of 239 CAL centres, Kashmir has got 130 centres. Dr. Itoo said that the students from all the 12 Districts of Kashmir Division including Leh and Kargil where these laboratories were inaugurated, participated through video conferencing in the event. These include three ICT labs established at BHSS Zadibal, BHSS Gund Hassibhat and BHS Batapora, and two CAL centres established at MS Tulsibagh and MS Panzinara from District Srinagar. DSEK said that these ICT labs and CAL centres will enable students to learn more effectively and as per the modern trends.
