Former Army men among 3 militants killed in Pulwama gunfight
Srinagar: The three militants slain in a gunfight with the government forces in Kharpora Sirnoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district were affiliated with Hizb ul Mujahideen.
The slain included Zahoor Ahmad Thokar of Sirnoo, a former army soldier who deserted his unit to join militant ranks.
The other two slain militants were identified as Adnan Hamid Bhat of Kareemabad and Bilal Ahmad Magray of Rajpora.
Seven civilians were killed after forces opened fire on protesters who were demonstrating against the militant killings. A soldier was also killed in the gunfight
